Nutrition & Weight Management Advisor
This course will enable you to work as a nutrition and weight management advisor working with individual clients or running weight management groups. Investigate the important link between what you eat and your health. Study the guidelines for energy intake and nutrient balance. Learn about process of digestion, the principles of effective weight management and how to help clients avoid the pitfalls of fad diets. We introduce the concept of eating for performance and briefly discuss some of the common supplements available today. This course will enhance the skills of a fitness instructor or personal trainer but can be completed as a standalone course to work as a nutrition and weight management advisor. The course will equip you with the skills required to analyse food diaries and educate members of the public about the benefits of a healthy balanced diet and how to lose weight safely and effectively through changing the way they eat.

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course, however, in order to gain REPs status for this course you must have a REPs recognised Fitness Instructor or Exericise to Music qualification prior to commencing this course.
Assessment and Certification
Assessment is through a theory exam and a case study. Successful students will be awarded the Lifetime Nutrition and Weight Management Award.
