 Health Screening and Fitness Testing

The Health screening and fitness testing module is taught through a combination of distance learning and a practical workshop day. The distance learning materials explain the benefits of performing health and fitness measurements with clients and contain protocols for a wide range of fitness assessments. On the workshop day you learn how to construct and deliver a client consultation including blood pressure monitoring, body composition analysis and heart disease risk stratification. We discuss when and how to gain consent for exercise from medical professionals and obtaining informed consent from clients. You also develop the skills required to conduct a comprehensive fitness assessment with clients. All assessments for this course will be completed on this workshop so you are not required to attend any additional assessment days.

Assessment

National Standards for Exercise and Fitness Logo

This module is assessed through formative practical assessments and an invigilated case study. Both aspects are assessed during the one day course so no additional exam days are required.
