 Personal training in alternative environments

This is a lesson in creative programming. This module addresses the desire of many people to exercise outdoors or in the convenience of their home or workplace. We help you take the skills you have in the gym and adapt them to situations where you have a limited amount of equipment and support. Outdoor training can be safe, effective and great fun. We demonstrate this with a tutor lead outdoor training session for the whole group. You develop a toolkit of exercises to use anywhere in a minimal equipment workshop. We investigate the health and safety obligations of training clients away from gyms and health clubs. You learn how to design progressive programmes to continually challenge clients, wherever you train them. Put your new skills into practice by leading a supervised outdoor training session for one of your peers. You should complete this course after you have completed the Advanced gym programming course.
