LIFETIME’S INNOVATIVE ASSESSMENT PRACTICE HAILED AS SUCCESS
Four National Governing Bodies (NGBs) have reaped the benefits of Lifetime’s innovative assessment practice to support the implementation of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) framework. The NGBs sports academy structures for tennis, rugby union, swimming and triathlon have all successfully delivered the programme thanks to Lifetime’s mapping and consultancy work.
LIFETIME LAUNCHES NEW PERSONAL TRAINING CERTIFICATE
Lifetime has launched a new Certificate in Personal Training, the fastest and most cost-effective route to give students Personal Trainer status on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). Lifetime’s certificate is completed primarily as distance learning supported by a fully interactive CD ROM and user friendly workbooks. Attendance is required on a four-day practical advanced gym programming workshop.
LIFETIME TEAMS UP WITH NORDIC WALKING UK
Lifetime and Nordic Walking UK have teamed up to offer its courses, recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals, to the health and fitness industry. Whilst Nordic Walking UK offers Lifetime courses to those without fitness qualifications, Lifetime will offer the two day intensive Nordic Walking course to its students. The programme will enable individuals to gain nationally recognised qualifications and lead Nordic Walking UK groups safely and effectively.
NEW TRAINING DIVISIONS AT LIFETIME
In response to rapid growth over the last twelve months, Lifetime has added three new training departments, Sport, Hospitality and Regional Contracts in Leisure, to its existing divisions, National Contracts in Leisure and Open Courses.
LEISURE CONNECTION TEAMS UP WITH LIFETIME
Leisure Connection has teamed up with Lifetime to deliver a unique training and employment programme for current and prospective personal trainers. The package is designed for internal staff and individuals from outside the industry to attend an intensive, subsidised course to achieve a REPs recognised personal training qualification, with a guaranteed job on successful completion.

One in five people will have depression at some point in their lives and by 2020, according to the World Health Organisation, major depression will be second only to chronic heart disease as an international health burden.
SERVICE LEAVERS GIVEN MORE ROUTES INTO LEISURE INDUSTRY
Armed Forces leavers who wish to move into the leisure sector can now benefit from wider training options, thanks to Lifetime gaining Preferred Supplier status. The application was approved by the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), a partnering agreement between the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Right Management, which delivers free resettlement services to all eligible ranks of the British Armed Forces.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MANAGER JOINS LIFETIME
A new role dedicated to quality assurance has been created at Lifetime. Katrina Hall has joined the training provider as Quality Improvement Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the quality of training meets the requirements of its corporate clients along with the Learning and Skills Council and Ofsted. In her six years’ experience, Katrina has built up strong working relationships with awarding bodies which she has brought to her new role.
