Ross White
Ross White left school at 16 and joined Woking FC Academy where he played for 3 years at Academy level. However, at 19 he suffered a knee injury and was released. At this stage, he felt as if he’d fallen behind his friends in terms of a career, and didn’t have any success in finding permanent employment. So when he heard about CEFF, he signed up straight away. At first he thought that there must be a catch somewhere as it sounded a bit too good to be true.
As he had quite a good background in fitness, and a ‘brilliant’ tutor he found the course quite easy to complete. He also completed the National Diploma in Sport from his time in the Academy.
After completing the practical part of the course at Virgin Active in Croydon in January, Ross got a job as a Fitness Instructor in LA Fitness Epsom. He was successful and is now in paid employment as a Fitness Instructor. He has also passed his NVQ. “I love meeting and talking to new people and I can’t believe I get paid to do something that I love!”
He is really enjoying the job and thinks it’s the best thing he’s done – he wasn’t too sure about it at the time – but is now really pleased that he decided to go ahead. “I intend to do my level 3 personal Trainer course in May as my ultimate goal is to run my own PT business”
