Carly Phipps
After giving birth to her first child, Carly, 26 suffered from post-natal depression. However, she decided to fight it by embarking on a brand new career and doing something that she was passionate about. Prior to the CEFF course she was employed back in the travel industry. But after going on maternity leave for nine months, she decided not to go back as her employers were not being very flexible about her working hours. She also needed a more secure income as her job was heavily commission based.
“The tutors were great and made everyone feel at ease. Because it is a full time course, the students could get quite tired and find it pretty intense, but Rob, our tutor, got them up and active at the right times to make sure that the course remained interesting and kept them all fully engaged”.
Carly believes that getting out and meeting new people, keeping physically active and doing something that she really loves have helped her to recover.
Now working at Fitness for All in Bellington, Macclesfield. Carly is self-employed and works as a Fitness Instructor and also teaches exercise classes. She is also still teaching classes at JJB. “In the future I would like to launch my own PT business and / or have her own studio. I am also considering a career in health club management”.
